Windows MovieMaker Helpful Hint
If you are using Windows MovieMaker (WMM) to create
an audiovisual presentation, you can not only include
video clips and still images, you can also add
PowerPoint-like slides of charts, graphs and text.
Follow the steps below to enhance your MovieMaker
presentation.
IMPORTANT: When you add these slides to
MovieMaker, it will appear that the resolution is
terrible. Don't be concerned - WMM reduces the
resolution as you are working on your project,
ostensibly to save you time. When you save your
project as a movie, you will see that the resolution is
fine.
- First, create your text slide using PowerPoint,
Word, or Excel and use Copy to select the material
you want to display on your slide
- Go to a tool such as Microsoft Paint or
Adobe Photoshop and open a new file
- Use Paste to add your text to the new
file.
- Save the new file as a .jpg, .bmp or .gif,
using a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels
- If you've decided to use images as well as
text for your PowerPoint-like slide, go to the
second link below to see a discussion of ways to
reduce distortion in your image
